Emily Part 6

She finally found the flat it took her better part of 2 hours.  But the first hour was filled with if she should go or not.

She wanted answers and this seemed like the only way to get them.  The flat was in a very derelict area, but was nice enough once you got in.  She helped herself to a drink and some food hoping that the girl wouldn't mind, promising to pay for it when she got in.

As minutes passed Emily wondered if she done the right thing.  She started to panic; I'm sitting in a stranger’s house, alone. Nobody knows where I am.  Maybe I should call Mark, he must be worried.  But then she noticed something.  Not odd but different.  This flat was normal.  It had normal things in it.  There was a TV, she can't remember the last time she saw a TV. There were knickknacks everywhere, pictures and mirrors. Mirrors blimey where did all the mirrors go?

Looking at herself she thought she looked tired.  Her blond hair was limp and her eyes look sunken. Her hands at her face her skin felt dry and rough. She can't remember being like this. Then she noticed the red mark around her wrist. Has she been in hospital?

Just then the door unlocked.

Emily Part 9

We can't Emily. That's not our job.

Tell me she screamed brandishing the knife at their faces.  I need to know.

Dal, calm her down screamed Jess.

OK I'll tell you. Please put the knife down.  At this point Emily lowered the knife.

It all started three years ago. You found out your boyfriend, who I'm pretending to be for your health, was cheating on you. You saw him with three other women, but not in a romantic setting. He was doing horrid things to these women. You could believe it. You could hear the things he called them and see how he way treating them and you just lost it.  Doctors said your mind couldn't take it, you vegged out. Not talking to anybody for months. Not even moving. Mark tried everything but you just were flat. You ate but hardly moved.

Then you went crazy.  Nobody knows what went through your head.  You went to Marks work and stabbed him.   But you weren’t yourself.  When people tried to stop you, you went for those people too. It was a blood bath.  You then stayed with Mark for 3 hours, just sitting there.  It was on the news.

Emily couldn't believe what she was hearing. Lies she told herself all lies.  She wouldn't hurt Mark and Mark wouldn't hurt a woman, lies.  All lies.  There is no way they could be telling the truth; I don't remember anything but that can't be true.

Come on Emily, look at me I'm not making this up, I wouldn't.  I’ve spent so much time with you, you know me. Please Emily just trust me, we have to go before it’s too late.  We need to get back before they come.  Please trust me on this.  It will be a lot worse if we don't leave now, please; I'm begging you listen to me.  Dal pleaded with Emily.

Why should I believe you, everything you say is lies.  You live in a castle of lies.  If all that happened then why can't I remember any of it?  Not one bit of it.  Emily stared at them waiting for her reply.

Dal answered before Jess could speak a word, He didn't need her to make the situation worse.  This hasn't been easy on Jess at all.  She had watched her boyfriend play boyfriend to another woman.  That would normally be enough for any woman to leave a guy, but when he explained he owed a debt this was the repayment it won’t be for long, she somehow managed to see passed it.  Jessica truly was the love of his life.

You were under medication to control your mind, It help you suppress those memories, It was designed to help you cope.  You didn't know it was sneaked into your food, you was too delicate for this kind of information.

Lies, Emily snarled, all Lies

Emily Part 8

You’re too fragile to know everything that happened before. But let me tell you this... Mark is not your boyfriend, he’s mine. He's not even called Mark, he’s called Dal.  You think everything peachy but look round you Emily. Your life isn’t real.  This room is real. Look a TV. Look real cooking utensils. Look real knives.  You’re not allowed these. You’re unsafe and you need to get put away.  You ruined everything.  Why did you wake up?  Jessica was screaming.

Stop it, yelled Emily.  I don't understand anything.  I’ve always been awake.

Yea but not like this. Jessica snarled.

Just at this point the door went and Mark walked in.  Jessica he shouted.  Why would you bring her here? Come Emily we going home.  I'll speak to you later Jess. And he tried to grab Emily.

She pulled away and ran to the kitchen grabbing a knife.

Don't come near me she cried.  Tell me everything, what is so horrid, who are you people if not Mark, your Dal?  I don't understand! Emily is beyond self-control.  She is screaming and thrashing the knife forward.  Don't come near me. Just tell me. I won’t hurt you.

Dal said alright put the knife down we will tell you everything.

No Emily screamed. Tell me now while I'm holding the knife.  What happened and why i can't I remember anything.

Emily Part 7

The waitress was home, talking on her phone.  Emily just sat on the sofa waiting till she finished her conversation but the waitress just held up one finger and dived into the kitchen.

Emily tried to hear what was being said and moved closer to the kitchen. She could hear Emily on the phone,

Yes Dal she’s here. I know I felt funny saying it too but at least she’s safe.  Get here ASAP.  She creeps me out. Love you too bye.

Emily ran back to the sofa.  Safe she said to herself.  Everybody is in this too. I can’t trust anybody. Who is Dal? She thought.

Just them Emily walked back to the living room.

So what did you want to know? You want memories back, you sure?  Things are not as you remember them.  Things have happened and they can never go back, because of you Emily.

What do you mean?  What did I do?  I don't know what’s happening. Please tell me.  Why won’t people tell me?

Emily Part 5

Mark went home to tell them everything that just happened.  This was not a phone call he wanted to make.

She just ran he tried to explain but you could hear them shouting from the other end of the telephone.  There were no warning signs.  I have no idea where she went.  She seemed to be asking more and more questions.  I didn't even have time to sneak the drugs into the food.  I don't know what to do. He explained, He was terrified, his voice was cracking he was waiting for their reply; it seemed to go quite on the other end of the phone, until the voice said we are coming over. Stay at home.

Emily kept running till she couldn't run any more.  Mark was so erratic she couldn't understand why.  She stopped for a second and looked around, she couldn't see him maybe it would be alright to take a mini break.  I'll pop in a cafĂ© have a coffee catch my breath, she thought.

As she walking into the coffee shop, every person in there stopped and looked at her for what seemed like a lifetime.  All eyes on her as she walked through to find a seat, everybody was still looking, Jesus she though, intense much.

She sat down and all of the staff was too scared to serve her, what the hell.  Can I have a coffee please she asked politely.  Within a couple of minutes a nervous waitress came shaking, please finish quickly and leave she whimpered.  You’re not allowed to be on your own she added.

What Emily replied, shocked, and grabbed the waitress.  What’s that supposed to mean?

Do you know me?  Do you know what happened, I have no memory.  I don't know what happening, everything seems weird and off.  Please help me.

Please leave me be, the girl pulled her arm back, and ran behind the counter.

Emily finishes the coffee and approached the counter to pay.

No charge the girl said, she couldn't even look at her.  But she did hand her a folded piece of paper, on it said meet me at flat 7a Bushflower Walk, keys on top of the door.  I finish at 11 you will be safe there.
